Today, we live in a world of great suffering! We’re increasingly consumed by great fear, worries, anxieties, ambiguities, diseases, and exhaustion. The book of Ecclesiastes 1:9 tells us “…there is nothing new under the sun”, “What has been again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun”.
The very same afflictions and diseases that plagues our world today existed in time past. The same God and the same Jesus of yesterday that calmed the raging storm, that brought HOPE to the hopeless, FAITH to the faithless, PEACE to weary souls is the same one that we follow today. In fact, the word of God tells us that God has given Jesus even more authority today. That, at the name of Jesus every knee should bow whether it be in heaven on earth or under the earth [Phil. 2:10]. This Jesus that we serve today is the most powerful force within the universe.
So powerful that, even the mere touching of his cloak by a woman who had been hemorrhaging for twelve years was enough to immediately led to sustained liberation from her afflictions [Luke 8:43].
This woman had been dismissed by physicians for over an entire decade, yet she was able to amount enough faith to reach out and touch His cloak, power came out of Jesus, immediately healing her of her disease, drying the fountain of blood away.
Today, while we don’t have Jesus’s garment to pull on, we have His name. The name of Jesus is the biggest hope that we have amidst uncertainties.
