Hands of God Universal – Who We Are & How We Operate
About Hands of God Universal
The Hands of God Universal was created in 2021 after the 7.2 magnitude earthquake devastated South Haiti. What began as a mission of Grace Bible Ministry—launched through a GoFundMe campaign to help rebuild schools—quickly grew into something larger. From those early efforts, the work expanded to include providing ongoing educational support for children in Haiti.
Today, the work continues as Hands of God Universal Inc., an LLC in transition toward 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. Though our structure has grown, our purpose remains the same: to give children in Haiti access to education, resources, and hope.
How We Operate
Hands of God Universal continues to operate much as it did under Grace Bible Ministry—through the generosity of sponsors and donors. With a gift of $19 per month (or $228 annually), sponsors ensure that children receive:
-
Tuition Support – partial to full coverage of school tuition, depending on the child’s location in Haiti.
-
Learning Resources – provision of books, school supplies, and backpacks, replaced annually or as needed.
-
Mentorship and Counseling – mentorship from sponsors (through letters, photos, or even Zoom calls), and guidance from our local team in Haiti, which provides Christian counseling and encouragement through schools affiliated with churches.
Nutrition Support
While Hands of God Universal does not run daily food programs, meals are often provided by larger, established nonprofits working with the same schools. However, during special events—such as photo days, parent–teacher conferences, or community gatherings—Hands of God Universal sponsors cover the cost of meals for children and their families, making these days a celebration of both learning and community.
The Sponsor Experience
We believe in keeping sponsors connected to the children they support. Each sponsor receives a progress report once a year, which includes:
-
A current photo of the sponsored child.
-
A letter from the child (pen-pal style).
-
The child’s school grade report.
This process ensures accountability for our organization and gives sponsors a direct window into the life and progress of the child they support.
Oversight and Accountability
Hands of God Universal is funded entirely through voluntary sponsorships and donations. We work closely with schools and community leaders in Haiti to ensure that all funds are used responsibly and directly benefit the children.
